eServGlobal at Pay Expo MENA

Globally there are 411 million mobile money accounts, 3.2 million mobile money agents and 271 deployments, with over 100 more currently in the pipeline.

According to the GSMA, 90% of the increase in mobile subscribers worldwide from 2015 to 2020 will come from developing markets.  In the Middle East and North Africa alone, there are now 339 million unique mobile subscribers, accounting for 60% of the population.

Digital technologies and services are transforming everyday lives across MENA, with mobile connectivity at their core. Smartphone connections in the region more than doubled between 2013 and 2016 reaching 263 million. Second only to Sub-Saharan Africa, MENA will have the fastest rate of smartphone adoption of any region in the coming years, bringing smartphone adoption to 65% by 2020, largely closing the gap between them and the global average.

  1. Yes ! It’s true that developing markets will come to their part in enhancing the overall landscape of smartphones. The higher rate of adoption towards smartphones will surely enhance in next coming years and it will surely lead to enhancement in mobile industry.
